Mainspring Energy is seeking an experienced regulatory professional to lead the company's environmental, energy, and regulatory strategy. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will drive policy engagement and compliance across operations, grid integration, and growth initiatives.

The role requires a J.D. and deep knowledge of environmental, energy, and utility law, with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Government Affairs to manage risk and

Qualifications

• J.D. preferred with active U.S. bar.
• 15+ years regulatory/legal experience in energy or utilities
• Knowledge of EPA rules and energy market rules
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead regulatory legal strategy to support commercialization and market growth.
• Advise on state and federal environmental laws and regulatory compliance.
• Provide legal support for air permitting and environmental approvals.
• Lead on product regulatory requirements and emissions standards.
• Advise on utility regulation, interconnection, tariffs, and market rules.
• Support project development and siting by identifying regulatory risks.
• Monitor legislation and advise on legal implications for DERs.
• Coordinate with Government Affairs on advocacy.
• Manage outside counsel as needed.
