Job summary

The State of Florida’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants seeks a Regulatory Specialist I in Tampa to independently process district records, respond to inquiries, and manage licenses and infractions. You will use Versa: Regulation and OnBase and support filing, imaging, and data management tasks.

Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, maintaining logs, handling mail, and assisting with reports. A background in office work and familiarity with statutes aids licensure decisions.

Qualifications

• Ability to answer busy multi-line telephone
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Ability to organize and coordinate work assignments
• Skilled in using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel
• Ability to interpret statutes and rules
• Ability to evaluate licensure decisions
• Two years of general office experience including customer service and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Process, track, and maintain district records and files
• Research reports, licenses, and related inquiries
• Respond to complaints and inquiries from the public
• Prepare and process legal documents; track mail receipts and service
• Imaging documents using OnBase; create and file new files
• Input data, scan reports, and retrieve files as needed
• Maintain computer logs and backup tracking systems
• Answer calls, distribute messages and complaints to staff
• Open and stamp incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail
• Track food borne illness complaints and notify Health personnel
• Assist with district correspondence and reporting
• Perform duties of AAII in absence, including revenue handling
• Perform other work as required
