Westcliff University is seeking a Regulatory Specialist to manage regulatory compliance, accreditation, licensure, and related reporting across the university and affiliated institutions.

You will coordinate documentation, ensure timely submissions, and work with academic and administrative teams. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Initiatives, you’ll help maintain readiness and ongoing compliance for reviews and audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of higher education compliance, accreditation, or regulatory affairs experience.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory frameworks.

Regulatory Specialist
Job Summary

The Regulatory Specialist supports regulatory compliance, accreditation, authorization, licensure activities for Westcliff University and its related institutions. This position assists in securing approvals and maintaining compliance with institutional accreditation, state and provincial regulatory bodies, licensing boards, and other governing agencies. The Regulatory Specialist coordinates documentation, reporting, monitoring, and compliance-related processes to support ongoing regulatory pursuits, obligations, and readiness. Working collaboratively with academic and administrative departments and reporting to the Director of Regulatory Initiatives, the position helps ensure the university secures the necessary approvals for its initiatives, maintains compliance, supports continuous quality improvement initiatives, and remains prepared for reviews, audits, site visits, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support the university’s compliance with institutional accreditation standards, state and provincial regulations, licensing boards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation, submission, and maintenance of accreditation, authorization, licensure, and regulatory reports, applications, renewals, and related documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory and accreditation requirements, deadlines, substantive changes, and reporting obligations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and maintain compliance and accreditation records, evidence, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with accreditation reviews, self-studies, site visits, audits, annual reports, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Research and communicate changes in regulatory, accreditation, and licensure requirements and assess potential impacts on university operations.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to gather data, coordinate compliance activities, and support regulatory and accreditation initiatives.
  • Track compliance findings, recommendations, corrective actions, and improvement plans to support accreditation readiness and institutional effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other materials for university leadership, accrediting agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, tracking systems, and documentation repositories to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist with policy and procedure reviews to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required (education, healthcare administration, or related field preferred); Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in higher education compliance, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of higher education accreditation standards and regulatory frameworks required. Direct experience with Westcliff’s accreditors and regulatory bodies preferred.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data management systems, and document repositories.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
