Job summary

Scotiabank in Houston seeks a Manager, Regulatory Reporting to strengthen the U.S. Finance team. You will prepare regulatory filings, review outcomes, and ensure data integrity across reporting processes in a global banking context.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage AXIOM for filings, and support audits and exams while driving process improvements and policy updates.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of US GAAP rules.
• 5+ years experience in financial/regulatory reporting in banking or consulting.
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel in particular.
• Experience with AXIOM or similar tools is a plus.
• Understanding of banking and capital markets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare regulatory reports per US GAAP and related instructions (daily–annual).
• Review reports to ensure compliance and proper controls.
• Utilize AXIOM to produce regulatory filings.
• Document and monitor data quality and CDEs for regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate across departments to implement new requirements and resolve issues.
• Participate in end-to-end AXIOM testing for BAU releases.
• Support Internal Audit and external exams with information and process improvements.
• Create/update policies, procedures, and risk-control matrices.
• Assist in data collection for dashboards and metrics.
• Prepare decks for stakeholders and assist training material.
• Attend mandatory Finance and Regulatory trainings.
• Respond promptly to ad-hoc regulatory requests.
• Show initiative and independent judgment in delivering objectives.
• Take on other Projects as assigned.
