Responsibilities

• Lead a finance unit within the Controller department (e.g., Accounting Policy or Corporate Reporting).
• Research technical accounting issues and implement new standards affecting the department and bank’s financial status.
• Oversee accurate, timely external and internal financial reporting with subordinate managers.
• Manage monthly and quarterly processes and apply comprehensive knowledge to decisions.
• Supervise staff including staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards; design and maintain internal controls; escalate issues as needed.
• Foster an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain internal controls and address audit points raised by regulators.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
