Job summary

You will support reporting, variance analysis, and bank regulatory filings, in a hybrid role with four in-office days at One M&T Plaza. A Bachelor’s degree (or Associate’s with experience) and 2–4 years in accounting/finance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, operations or financial institutions.
• Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, operations or financial institutions.
• Good knowledge of finance and accounting concepts, business operations and bank products.
• Strong PC skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access; data visualization or querying tools a plus.
• Detail oriented with strong problem‑solving skills and good verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross training and support to new team members.
• Assist with problem resolution, data interpretation, variance analysis and timely submission of reports.
• Assist with design of projects and lead projects of moderate scope.
• Prepare complex financial schedules and reports including bank regulatory and SEC reporting.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls; support SEC disclosure and regulatory requirements.
• Present to managers or peers on topics of expertise when required.
