Job description

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you're capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It's a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform - and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we're seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company's hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn't for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there's no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The Regulatory Reporting function is an integral component of Finance's risk management and reporting process, helping to ensure Coinbase remains in compliance with the regulatory requirements. We are looking for a Regulatory Reporting Analyst who has a positive attitude and is highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced multi-task oriented environment. This position will play a crucial role in meeting our regulatory reporting obligations in various local and international jurisdictions. You will work and collaborate closely with many stakeholders across the organization, including regulatory compliance, finance, and data, to ensure the accurate and complete filing of our regulatory reports. This role will report to the Regulatory Reporting Manager.

What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Prepare and coordinate regulatory report filings and ad-hoc inquiries from state and international licensing bodies.
  • Assist with internal, external and regulatory audits.
  • Draft and maintain reporting & regulatory policies and procedures and ensure compliance with key controls.
  • Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the reporting process.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Minimum of 3 years working in public accounting or in the fintech/financial services industries preferred
  • Regulatory or financial reporting experience, such as CCAR, FR Y-9C, and FFIEC 031.
  • Experience with state money transmission license regulatory reporting is a strong plus.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills (MS Excel), business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated and attention to detail.
  • Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with reporting tools, such as Workiva and Netsuite.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and experience working with Snowflake, Looker or similar analytics tools.
