Brighthouse Financial in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Accountant of Regulatory Reporting to coordinate SEC filings and GAAP reporting for both subsidiary entities. You will analyze data for completeness and accuracy, and support period-end close processes.

The role requires GAAP and SEC knowledge, experience with financial statements, and proficiency in Excel, Workiva Wdesk, SAP, and MS Office. We offer a hybrid work model and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
• 2+ years of related experience in Accounting and Financial Services.
• Strong working knowledge of and experience in financial reporting to analyze statements and transactions.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Workiva Wdesk; SAP and Analysis for Microsoft Office a plus.
• CPA completion or pursuit is highly desirable.
• Preferred knowledge with life insurer financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare documentary support for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and GAAP reporting.
• Ensure timely responses to audit requests for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end financial reporting tasks and related processes.
• Support reporting-project management and process-improvement efforts.
• Coach and develop teammates in Brighthouse culture.
