Description du poste

Where you’ll work:

Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office.

How you’ll contribute:

As an Accountant of Regulatory Reporting, you’ll be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for information reported within SEC filings for SEC registrants and within GAAP financial statements and other external reports for non-public entities, as well as the analysis of such information for completeness and accuracy. The position requires an understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and corresponding financial statement presentation, an understanding of the many legal entities comprising the enterprise and an understanding of period-ending close processes and procedures.

In this role, you’ll get to:
  • Coordinate and prepare documentary support for all reported information filed with the SEC on our Form 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, which includes business data, core financial statements, footnote disclosures, schedules, XBRL as applicable, as well as ad hoc requests for financial data used by various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely responses to internal and external audit requests associated with quarterly reviews and annual audits of the company’s SEC registrants.
  • Assist with other quarterly and year-end financial reporting tasks, such as participating in team discussions, providing status assessments, submission and production tracking, etc.
  • Support project management whereby reporting objectives are continuously evaluated in relation to ongoing projects, process improvements, enhanced reporting and technical accounting research, including changes in accounting guidance.
  • Maintain continuous coaching and performance development and feedback, consistent with Brighthouse culture.
We’re looking for people who have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field of expertise (preferred).
  • 2+ years of related experience in Accounting and Financial Services.
  • Strong working knowledge of and experience in financial reporting (e.g., standard reporting, ad hoc reporting, slice-and-dice and drill-down reporting) to perform detailed analysis of financial statements and complex transactions.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Workiva Wdesk and experience with SAP and Analysis for Microsoft Office a plus.
  • Completion of, or working towards CPA highly desired.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience working with life insurers’ financial statement preparation a plus.

Research shows some people may not apply for a role if they don’t check all the boxes of a job description. If you don’t check every box listed, that’s okay. We would love to hear from you.

What you’ll receive:
  • Compensation – Base salary ranging from $77,000 to $87,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
  • Flexible Work Environment – Work remotely or in the office to better thrive in all areas of life.

  • Family Support – Care for loved ones with up to 16 weeks of paid leave for new parents, back-up dependent care, dependent care flexible spending account, and up to a $25,000 lifetime maximum during your adoption, infertility, or surrogacy journey.
