Job summary

The MBTA seeks a Project Manager of Quality, Compliance, and Oversight to oversee the development, verification, and close-out of regulatory findings from authorities like FTA, DPU, and SSO. You’ll drive the scope and deliverables from initiation through close-out within a cross-functional team led by senior directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in project management, public administration, or planning in transportation services, or related industry experience.
  • One year supervisory, managerial, and/or leadership experience.
  • Experience with methods of business process redesign and familiarity with Quality Assurance principles.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, analytical, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Visio and PowerPoint applications.
  • Effective professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of collaboration, transparency, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees and vendors.
  • Excellent customer service and diplomatic approach to issue, risk identification and resolution.
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple QCO projects, coordinating among internal MBTA stakeholders and external parties.
  • Ensure deliverables meet budget, schedule, and quality standards; manage resources.
  • Coordinate plan reviews with internal departments and regulators.
  • Assist in developing project scopes, RFPs, statements of work, and regulator submissions.
  • Assist with negotiations of assignments, task orders, changes, and contingency use.
  • Coordinate with MBTA teams and contractors to align activities.
  • Organize and coordinate diverse meetings and presentations.
  • Lead process redesign initiatives across departments to drive transformation.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, charts, and presentations using MS Word/Excel/Project/PowerPoint.
  • Identify and resolve project issues; escalate when needed.
  • Prepare task orders for consultants and manage external support.
