Job summary

The State Corporation Commission in Virginia seeks a Policy & Enforcement Advisor for the Bureau of Financial Institutions. The role focuses on regulatory policy development, enforcement coordination, and staying abreast of evolving state and federal rules in the financial services sector.

Qualifications

Experience in developing regulatory policies and procedures.
Experience drafting regulations, letters, and advisories.
Ability to monitor state and federal regulatory developments and advise staff.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance to the Commissioner and senior staff on regulatory policies and procedures.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on SCC and Virginia financial services.
Conduct research on financial products/services affecting market conduct in Virginia.
Draft legislative proposals, regulations, interpretive letters, and advisory bulletins.
Participate in legislative meetings and work groups; coordinate with industry and regulatory partners.
Coordinate BFIs Accreditation program activities with CSBS and NASCUS.
Manage enforcement actions in coordination with Counsel and supervision teams.
