Job summary

State of Minnesota - Attorney General's Office in Saint Paul is seeking a hybrid-roles Analyst/Paralegal to support residential utilities through analysis, litigation support, and expert testimony. You will work with the Residential Utilities Division to prepare testimony, conduct data analysis, and assist in contested proceedings.

The role focuses on rate case reviews, regulatory processes, and coordination with attorneys.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative field
  • At least 2 years in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative field
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn investigative techniques and public utilities regulation

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze utility filings to identify issues for the division
  • Draft written testimony and discovery; review briefs and other written work
  • Analyze data and prepare reports for attorneys
  • Conduct research on utility practices, finances, and legislation
  • Stay current on utility developments to identify matters for RUD involvement
  • Draft written comments and support attorneys in public utilities processes
  • Attend PUC agenda meetings to support attorneys
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings related to PUC proceedings
  • Summarize positions and provide updates to leadership
  • Support and collaborate with attorneys on contested cases
