Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Data Analyst to join a high‑impact team supporting regulatory reporting for U.S. derivatives markets. You will help define data standards, ensure data quality, and collaborate with industry stakeholders to support both traditional derivatives and emerging prediction markets.

Local to DMV area or Chicago, IL area required. The role requires hands‑on experience with SQL, AWS, data validation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 10 years with AS/AA; or 12 years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of derivatives markets including futures, options, and swaps.
• Experience with XML, FIXML, FPML is preferred.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Redshift) and data tooling.
• Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and mappings.
• Clear communication with internal teams, exchanges, and stakeholders.
• At least 1 year of experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Azure, SQL tools; AWS, Redshift, Python.

Responsibilities

• Define data standards and reporting requirements for CFTC obligations.
• Develop guidance, data mappings, and validation rules for schema changes.
• Support market participants by answering data submission questions and maintaining references.
• Analyze exchange-submitted data for duplicates, missing fields, and cross-dataset mismatches.
• Document gaps or anomalies and troubleshoot UAT and production issues.
• Collaborate with CFTC divisions and external participants to align data standards.
• Participate in industry calls and onboarding of new applicants, aligning with regulatory needs.
