Job summary

Aurora seeks a Regulatory Counsel to join its world‑class legal team in California. You will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory, and guide compliance for federal and state autonomous vehicle regulations as Aurora scales deployment.

In this role you will provide cross‑functional legal and policy advice, design compliance roadmaps, and address novel regulatory challenges as the Aurora Driver expands geographically.

Qualifications

• JD degree and active State Bar.
• 3–6 years of relevant in-house, law firm, and/or government experience.
• Proven track record handling complex regulatory matters across multi-jurisdictional frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication; ability to influence cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross-functional and actionable legal and policy advice to teams across the company during deployment of the Aurora Driver.
• Advise internal teams on ongoing legislative and regulatory processes and design related compliance strategies.
• Tackle novel regulatory issues arising from autonomous vehicle technology and shape frameworks to support rapid deployment and geographic expansion.
• Own strategic compliance roadmaps with federal and state autonomous vehicle requirements, including securing authorizations, data/incidents reporting, and external responses to inquiries.
• Collaborate with the broader legal team on targeted projects including incident response, dispute resolution, and transactional matters.
