Join to apply for the Regulatory Compliance Specialist role at Kar's Nuts.

We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands 4x from $500MM to $1+B in the next 4 years through a combination of organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation) and through M&A. We have an opening for a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. This role reports to the Regulatory Compliance Manager and will perform a variety of regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, packaging, and regulatory database management to ensure compliance with applicable food and other product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes in the US and Canada. This is a remote position that will require some travel to Michigan and Canada. Eastern time zone is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist with label creation, technical copy, and packaging review to ensure compliance with US and Canadian food regulations.
2. Provide technical consultation to ensure compliance with food regulations in the US and Canada.
3. Support maintenance of customer portals and assist Sales teams as needed.
4. Review supplier documentation to identify gaps relative to internal standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Assist with secondary supplier approval processes as needed.
6. Maintain and update internal raw material and finished goods specifications, communicating changes accordingly.
7. Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Marketing, and Sales teams.
8. Assist Consumer Affairs with regulatory inquiries.
9. Perform other tasks assigned by the Regulatory Compliance Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biological Sciences, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for degree.
2. Knowledge of US and Canadian food regulations.
3. Expertise in food labeling, ingredient specifications, and compliance documentation.
4. Experience managing data in customer portals or similar software is preferred.
5. Strong problem-solving, data collection, and analytical skills.
6. Effective communication of technical concepts via visual, oral, and written methods.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work promptly.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, TraceGains, label proofing software, and nutrition database management is preferred.
