Job summary

GISI Consulting Group seeks a Regulatory Compliance Counsel to design and implement enterprise risk, compliance, and audit programs. You will support operating companies, respond to regulatory inquiries, and advise leaders on ethics, data governance, and third-party risk.

The role involves enterprise-wide exposure with internal investigations, external inquiries, and training, reporting to the Chief Compliance Counsel. Remote-first with period travel to NYC and other office locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, investigations, or related roles.
  • Experience leading or overseeing a compliance and/or internal audit function within a complex organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee enterprise integrity standards including anti-corruption and conflicts of interest.
  • Lead investigations and advise senior leadership on integrity issues.
  • Manage third-party risk programs, due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
  • Support enterprise risk management including risk & controls register and board-level reporting.
  • Assist with data privacy compliance, governance, and responsible AI use.

Position Overview

GISI CG Corporate is seeking a skilled and motivated Regulatory Compliance Counsel to support the design and implementation of critical elements of GISI Consulting Group’s Risk, Compliance, and Audit program. The role supports the Consulting Group’s Operating Companies (OpCos) to respond to immediate risk and legal issues, as well as design strategic program framework components, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical business practices. This role has enterprise-wide involvement with internal investigations, external regulatory inquiries, third-party risk management, compliance training, and internal audit, all while partnering with teams across the organization to foster a culture of integrity and accountability.

Location

This position is largely remote, based out of either Boston, MA, New York City, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Washington, DC, however travel to GISI’s New York City office will be required several times a month. This role will be posted in these locations, with one position available.

Reporting
  • This role will report directly to GISI’s Chief Compliance Counsel, and support the Consulting Group’s Chief Legal Officer and operating company leaders to achieve business objectives
  • This role is not expected to have supervisory responsibilities initially; however, this may evolve as the function and team needs develop
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Regulatory, Integrity & Third-Party Risk
  • Design and maintain enterprise integrity standards, including anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, antitrust, and fair-competition expectations
  • Administer and update as needed the Company’s suite of compliance policies
  • Contribute to, review, and oversee delivery of integrity and compliance-related training content
  • Support the Company’s integrity-related third-party risk program, including due diligence, risk screening, ongoing monitoring, and remediation or disengagement where appropriate for vendors, consultants, and other business partners
  • Support client transparency and integrity commitments, including responses to client inquiries, certifications, and audits related to ethics, investigations, conflicts, and third-party integrity risk.
  • Support data privacy compliance and data governance guardrails
  • Guide responsible use of emerging technology and AI tools across the enterprise
  • Support human rights and modern slavery compliance and related disclosures
People Risk, Conduct & Investigations
  • Direct and oversee ethics and compliance investigations across the enterprise for matters implicating Company policies and related compliance standards
  • Serve as counsel on workplace conduct matters requiring escalated judgment
  • Oversee operation of the integrity helpline and speak‑up channels, including intake, triage, and appropriate routing of matters
  • Set enterprise conduct expectations and advise leadership on integrity issues
  • Analyze trends and systemic issues arising from investigations and conduct matters; escal ... significant matters and emerging risks to leadership
  • Design and support the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management function, including the administration of the Risk and Controls register
  • Oversee and execute regulator enterprise risk assessments
  • Assess control design and operating effectiveness across the enterprise
  • Identify systemic issues and recurring themes; track remediation plans and management action items
  • Collaborate on compliance audits by helping assess risk areas, providing guidance on regulatory obligations, and ensuring alignment with best practices
  • Support business continuity and resilience planning
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, investigations, white collar or complex regulatory matters, government investigations, or related in-house and/or professional services roles
  • Significant experience leading or overseeing a compliance and/or internal audit function within a complex, multi-jurisdictional organization
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing sensitive internal investigations and advising senior leadership on integrity-related issues involving anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, and fair competition/antitrust risk.
  • Experience designing or operating integrity-focused third-party risk processes (e.g., due diligence, risk screening, monitoring, remediation)
  • Experience leading enterprise risk management function, including risk and control assessment, controls enhancement, and Board-level reporting
  • Exceptional executive presence and the ability to advise senior leaders on highly sensitive topics
  • Excellent judgment and discretion, with a practical, solutions‑oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple enterprise‑wide priorities with consistency and follow‑through
  • Prior experience in government enforcement, prosecution, or white-collar investigations (or substantial work opposite those agencies in private practice) strongly preferred
