Job summary

Duke Energy's Carolinas Accounting & Reporting group seeks a Lead Accounting professional to provide senior-level support in regulatory accounting, research, and complex analysis. You will lead projects, coordinate daily work, and deliver reliable reporting under GAAP and FERC guidelines.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Tax, and external auditors and requires strong communication and leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
5+ years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree.
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and finance principles, practices, and procedures.
Experience with financial systems including Wdesk, OneStream, PeopleSoft, CAPS Online, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

Solve complex regulatory accounting issues with GAAP, FERC, and other regulatory requirements and meet reporting obligations (Form 10-Q/K).
Manage multiple fast-paced work streams and coordinate reporting to management and stakeholders.
Lead process improvements across regulatory accounting functions to increase efficiency.
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to address inquiries and perform SOX testing.
