  • Review and/or perform day-to-day accounting and budgeting functions.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of budgeting systems.
  • Lead special projects with manager guidance.
  • Maintain knowledge of GAAP.

Job Overview

Job Title: Regulatory Accountant

Location: Hybrid Role - Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY

Employment Type: 1+ Year Contract

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of the line of business goals, objectives and operating budgets.
  • Solve complex business problems and analyze business results.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to annual operating plan and budget requirements, including financial target communication to line of business leaders, planning labor utilization, labor requirements, and leadership presentations.
  • Oversee the planning and budgeting function, including business case development and capital governance documentation for project approvals.
  • Engage regularly with business partners and pursue enhancements to business relationships.
  • Lead process improvements with business partners and oversee implementation.
  • Oversee junior team members in analyzes of financial results vs. budget/forecast, including variance explanations.
  • Monitor capital projects and adjust forecasts as needed; monitor O&M expenses to support corporate targets.
  • Oversee complex regulatory support including rate cases, regulatory assets or liabilities, mechanism/tracker filings, and other required filings.
  • Review and/or perform day-to-day accounting and budgeting functions (project/work order maintenance, project/task setup, monthly accruals, expense coding, etc.).
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of budgeting systems and train junior staff; modify or create ad-hoc reports and lead system upgrades/testing if needed.
  • Lead special projects with manager guidance.
  • Maintain knowledge of GAAP and provide FERC classification guidance.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal skills for interaction with and presentation to all management levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.
