  • Assist with enrolment activities, DBS checks, and onboarding of trainees into the programme.
  • Support with assessments and awards processes, including boards and results processing.

Registry Administrator

Support the teachers of tomorrow. Join our Registry Services team and help deliver an outstanding trainee experience.

Location: Within commuting distance of one of our campuses in Birmingham, Blackburn, Bradford, Bristol, Doncaster, Beckenham or Redcar.

Contract: Full Time. Fixed term contract for 4 years due to funding.

Work arrangement: The role is predominantly hybrid with the need to be on site at least once a fortnight. The role will, on occasion, be required to travel to other sites across the country and travel expenses will be paid.

Salary: £28,598 per annum (plus London weighting if applicable) + benefits.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registry Administrator to join the National Institute of Teaching within our Registry Services team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your Registry knowledge and gain valuable experience in a supportive environment.

This role plays a crucial part in our student administration service, ensuring an exceptional and efficient service for all students and wider institutional stakeholders. Key areas of responsibility for the role include the administration of student assessment and award progressions, awarding documentation, as well as assisting with enrolment activity, ensuring a seamless student journey for all trainees.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record of providing administrative support, ideally in an education setting, who can follow and track different administrative processes. Excellent organisational skills are essential as is being proactive and self‑motivated, with a positive approach to work.

Corporate Responsibilities
  • To ensure that the responsibilities of the role are carried out in a way which reflects the mission and the values of the NIoT.
  • To be aware of and observe all policies, procedures, working practices and regulations, and in particular to comply with policies relating to Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Data Protection and Financial Regulations, reporting any concerns to an appropriate person.
  • To comply with all reasonable management requests.
Key Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for triaging departmental email enquiries and being the first point of contact for students and stakeholder enquiries to Registry Services.
  • To administer student records including personal details, enrolment records, assessment and progression records, student change of circumstances and any other data relating to the student journey.
  • To liaise with any relevant external stakeholders to ensure accurate record keeping and smooth administration of the PGCE programme.
  • To administer internal and external student record systems, ensuring they are kept accurate and up to date at all times.
  • To assist with administering records including registration, attendance, bursaries and updates to student circumstances.
  • To support with work relating to assessments and awards including but not limited to examination boards, academic misconduct, Turnitin and results processing.
  • To assist with collation of assessment evidence for QTS and PGCE processes, support of QTS and PGCE assessment panels and processing results outcome letters.
  • To actively monitor assessment and report data, proactively prompting stakeholders to complete records where compliance issues are identified.
  • To support with administration surrounding the onboarding of trainees or participants on to the programme including processing DBS and safer recruitment checks where required.
  • To support with processes relating to extensions and extenuating circumstances.
  • To support with academic casework administration.
  • To support with graduation and award processing, including but not limited to production of data for graduation ceremonies, support with administration relating to the production of award documents such as certificates and transcripts.
Essential Criteria
  • A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching
  • An interest in the education sector and a belief in the value of teachers and school leaders
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software packages, such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as search engines and online databases
  • A pro-active approach that focuses on solutions
  • Highly proficient in administering and proactively monitoring processes which drive successful reporting
  • A sensitivity to the requirements of different audiences and an ability to adapt style appropriately
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a remote and geographically distributed team.
  • Previous experience in the education sector
  • Experience of using student record systems, management information systems and/or online learning environments.
  • Experience of higher education assessment processes including marks entry, assessment boards and results and awards processing.
  • Experience of using Turnitin
  • Experience of Student Finance rules and regulations
  • Experience of administering all aspects of student records for those on Higher Education programmes
  • Previous expertise of supporting training in the education sector, especially within ITE
