Job summary

Compass Surgical Partners is seeking a Registration Specialist for Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center in Somers Point, NJ. You will coordinate patient registration and front desk operations, serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and clinical teams.

Cross-training with surgical scheduling is included. Role hours are Tuesday through Friday, full-time at 32 hours per week, typically 5:45am to 2:15pm, with an expected start date in late August or early September.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; healthcare patient experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with Windows-based systems and scheduling/registration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately by verifying demographics, insurance coverage, benefits, prior authorizations, and required documentation.
• Review scheduling, referral, and insurance information; verify eligibility and determine authorization requirements.
• Conduct authorization research and validation through payer platforms and other systems.
• Communicate with referring offices, patients, physicians, and staff to obtain missing information and secure authorizations.
• Review and validate authorization approvals, dates, and CPT/ICD-10 codes for compliance.
• Document insurance verification, authorization status, and patient information in systems.
• Collect copayments, maintain patient records, and ensure confidentiality.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer calls, and coordinate front desk operations.
• Perform clerical duties including record maintenance and upkeep of reception areas.
