Job summary

MemorialCare in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Registration Representative for night shifts. The role supports the Orange Coast Medical Center mission and values, handling patient registration, inquiries, and admission-related tasks with accuracy and care.

Responsibilities include accurate data entry in Epic, adherence to privacy standards, and delivering courteous, efficient service to patients and families. A positive, punctual team player with basic computer skills is preferred.

Title: Registration Representative PD/ Nights

Location: Fountain Valley, CA

Shift: NIGHTS

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Position Summary:

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. 1. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
2. 2. Adheres to department policy of using two patient identifiers.
3. 3. Avoids HIPAA violations by choosing correct MRN and interviews, registers, and pre-registers patients timely and accurately in Epic.
4. 4. Ensures all registration forms are complete, signed, and scanned. Enters notes in Epic as required.
5. 5. Ability to provide excellent customer service using Simply Better and AIDET principles.
6. 6. Collects and posts payments timely and accurately. Immediately drops payment in safe or cash drawer.
7. 7. Maintains registration accuracy rate of 95% or better.
8. 8. Monitors and manages work queues.
9. 9. PBX: answers calls timely, professionally, and routes calls appropriately. Ability to understand and follow all emergency codes and alarm paging protocols.
10. 10. Ability to be at work and be on time.
11. 11. Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives. Supports department performance improvement activities. (Meetings, employee engagement survey, education, and training activities).
12. 12. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
13. 13. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Experience

• * 1-2 years Medical Office/Admitting/Registration or equivalent healthcare experience preferred
• * General knowledge of insurance payors: PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, & CalOptima preferred
• * Bi-lingual (English/Spanish, or English/Vietnamese) preferred
• * General computer skills required including: electronic medical record and Microsoft Office preferred
• * Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Education

• * High school graduate preferred
• * Medical Terminology related course or certificate preferred
