Responsibilities:
  1. Provide excellent customer service and knowledge, including service recovery.
  2. Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and financial information for all registration types, including obtaining signatures, scanning documents, and collecting patient financial responsibility.
  3. Use reference materials to ensure proper procedures; seek guidance when needed.
  4. Follow downtime procedures as established.
  5. Proactively work on downtime tasks such as managing DL's, insurance desktop, renaming faxed orders, and maintaining work and patient areas.
  6. Understand their role in influencing Press Ganey/HCAHPS scores and contribute positively to patient experience.
  7. Process pre-registrations for all appointment types and locations, excluding ER.
  8. Answer phones and return voicemails promptly.
  9. Seek guidance on uncertain or unusual situations; avoid hasty decisions.
  10. Establish good relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, recognizing everyone as a customer.
  11. Verify insurance information using all available eligibility resources.
  12. Work well within team environments and maintain open communication.
  13. Accurately identify and estimate patient financial liabilities and manage collections and cash reconciliation.
  14. Meet or exceed quality review scores of 80% for at least 9 months of the year.
Qualifications:

Required: High school diploma or GED

Experience/Skills:

Required: Customer service experience; on-the-job training provided.

Preferred: Clerical and Meditech experience; knowledge of medical terminology.

Equivalent education and experience may be substituted where applicable.

Additional Information:

Department-specific competencies will be developed and maintained within each department and reviewed with incumbents.
