  • Register new patients and update existing records with accurate demographic, insurance, income, and contact information in the electronic health record.
  • Verify insurance coverage and determine eligibility for the sliding fee discount program in accordance with HRSA requirements.
  • Collect copayments, account balances, and other patient payments; issue receipts and maintain accurate cash-handling records.
  • Complete end-of-day reports, count collected funds, and reconcile the cash drawer at the close of each business day.
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments while supporting patient access and efficient provider schedules.
  • Complete patient check-out, including scheduling follow-up appointments, providing visit summaries, and coordinating referrals as directed.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and organizational privacy policies.
  • Use interpreter services and communication resources to assist patients with limited English proficiency.
  • Respond professionally to questions regarding services, clinic policies, billing, appointments, and other general information.
  • Scan, upload, and manage patient documents in the electronic health record accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor patient wait times and elevate concerns to the appropriate team member to support a positive patient experience.
  • Support care coordination by relaying complete and accurate messages to clinical teams.
  • Make reminder calls for upcoming patient appointments.
  • Participate in quality-improvement efforts focused on patient satisfaction, reduced no-show rates, and improved access to care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and welcoming front-desk environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to four years of clerical experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
