Job summary

Putnam County Hospital seeks a full-time day shift Registration Clerk to welcome patients and guide them through admittance. The role ensures accurate entry of demographics and insurance data into the EMR, verifies coverage, and handles transfer paperwork efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma, strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or Equivalent.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (CPSI) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics, billing, and insurance into EMR.
• Verify insurance coverage.
• Obtain signed statements and authorizations.
• Conduct admittance and transfer procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of EMR, insurance coverages, and billing policies.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist Information Desk as needed (greeting, COVID screening, calls).
• Follow hospital policies and procedures.
