Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a systems engineer to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and scale tools and services that support domain management, while collaborating with technical leaders to map requirements to delivery and outcomes.

The role emphasizes system design improvements, reliability, and on-call readiness across production services, with a focus on scalable architectures and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer focused on designing, building and scaling data infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills for articulating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience deploying large-scale systems in Java, Go, Ruby on Rails, or other high-performance languages.
• Experience debugging to ensure the system works in all cases.
• Strong systems level programming skills.
• Excited by optimizing complex solutions to general problems that all websites face.
• Experience with a CI workflow and using source control.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, running and scaling tools and services that support the full spectrum of domain management.
• Analyzing and communicating complex technical requirements and concepts with technical leaders to deliver.
• Improving system design and architecture for stability and performance of internal and customer-facing components.
• Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of production services, including on-call rotations.
