Qualifications

• 8+ years building scalable distributed systems; 3+ years in System/Platform Architect roles
• Experience architecting both large microservice environments and monolithic apps
• Strong hands-on Golang coding; write production-quality code
• Knowledge of Protocol Buffers, gRPC, WebSockets, Kafka, PostgreSQL
• Security & Authentication: OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, encryption, zero-trust
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform; IaC
• Familiarity with distributed patterns (Saga, retries, circuit breakers)
• Experience with high-scale systems handling millions of requests per day
• Excellent technical writing and cross-team communication
• Experience planning phased implementations and feature rollouts
• Proven track record with feature flags and zero-downtime deployments
• Ability to guide architectural decisions and create roadmaps
• Mentorship mindset and cost analysis capabilities
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows in system analysis

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Design microservices and platform features from concept to production-ready specs
• Create technical designs for complex components and develop proof-of-concepts in Golang
• Architect secure, fault-tolerant systems with automated failover and end-to-end encryption
• Analyze existing architecture to plan gradual replacement of legacy components
• Plan implementation phases, migrations, and deprecation timelines
• Governance & Collaboration: Review designs and provide detailed feedback
• Lead architecture review sessions across teams
• Partner with Product, Dev Leads, Security, SRE and Infra to set standards
• Lead threat modeling and drive platform-wide initiatives
• Mentor engineers on architectural best practices
• Documentation & Planning: Write ADRs, design docs, runbooks, API specs
• Create visual system diagrams and research technical solutions
• Design zero-downtime migration strategies and acceptance criteria
