Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registrar to collect patient demographics and insurance info for outpatient services, expediting the registration process and creating a positive first impression.

You will verify benefits, obtain precertifications, collect payments, and coordinate with admitting staff to ensure accurate data entry and smooth patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience with patient registration systems preferred.
• Knowledge of billing and insurance processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered accurately and timely into the registration system.
• Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family members.
• Meets with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions or concerns.
• Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

What We're Looking For

The Registrar collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.
