Job summary

Spring View Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registrar to join the team on a PRN schedule. You will collect patient demographics and insurance information for outpatient services, collect co-pays and deductibles, and expedite the registration process.

You will interact with patients and families, explain forms, verify benefits, and coordinate with admissions and financial counselors. High school diploma or GED preferred; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Experience collecting demographic, billing, and clinical information.
• Ability to verify insurance and obtain precertification/authorization.
• Strong communication with patients and staff.

Work Schedule: PRN (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm when needed or to cover during vacations and call ins. Hours based on need) Pay rate: $16

How you'll contribute

The Registrar collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

A Registrar who excels in this role:

• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.
• Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
• Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up.
