Responsibilities

The Registrar demonstrates a professional attitude to all they come in contact with at all times and performs all duties in an ethical and efficient manner. This encompasses registration activities for all in-patient and out-patient hospital based procedures. The Registrar interviews patients and/or their representatives to ensure the accurate collection of information required for demographic and financial purposes are entered into the hospital's computer database in an efficient manner. The Registrar collects payment for any non-covered services rendered at the time of service. For Emergency Department registrations, EMTALA guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

Knowledgeable in medical health insurances. Basic medical terminology and computer knowledge. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Minimum 2 years of registration experience within a medical setting (doctor’s office, hospital). High school graduate or equivalency required; college preferred.
