Qualifications

• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species.
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Dental procedures experience including scaling and polishing.
• IV catheter placement and blood draws.
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical support including intubation and post-operative care.
• Laboratory skills including cytology setup and interpretation.
• Diagnostic imaging including digital radiography and ultrasound-guided procedures.

Job description

We are currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Westside Animal Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Salary: $19-$22/hr per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule: 4/10, some Saturday coverage required.

Hospital is open Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 6 pm, Saturday 8 am - 3 pm.

Location: 1603 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80904

Who You Are:

• 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a Veterinary Technician


• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire


• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment


• Passion for working with small animals, birds, and their owners


• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species


• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital


• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare


• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills


• Dental procedure experience, scaling and polishing


• Skilled in IV Catheter placement and all blood draws


• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care


• Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation


• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis


• And all other duties of a Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
