AmeriVet is partnering with Westside Animal Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO to hire an Experienced Veterinary Assistant. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of veterinary clinical experience and a passion for caring for small animals and birds.

You will contribute to high-volume, health-focused care in a collaborative setting. Salary ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, with 4/10 schedules and some Saturday coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and assist in hospital procedures.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring and perioperative care.
• Handle diagnostic procedures including radiology and cytology setup.
• Support dental procedures such as scaling and polishing.
• Assist in IV catheter placement and blood draws.
• Perform routine lab tasks and maintain clean, organized workspaces.

Westside Animal Hospital is a long-standing small animal hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. With 7 doctors, we are a high-volume, highly efficient team that works seamlessly together. With a deeply loyal clientele, this hospital is always busy and utilizes all associates to the highest level of their skills.

We are currently looking to hire an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Westside Animal Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Salary: $19-$22/hr, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule: 4/10, some Saturday coverage required.

Hospital is open Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 6 pm, Saturday 8 am – 3 pm.

Who You Are:

3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a Veterinary Assistant Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Passion for working with small animals, birds, and their owners Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills Dental procedure experience, scaling and polishing Skilled in IV Catheter placement and all blood draws Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis And all other duties of a Veterinary Assistant as allowable by law
