Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners seeks experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our North Carolina small animal practices across a range of settings, from general GP to high-volume hospitals. RVTs will support exam rooms, anesthesia, surgeries, dental care, and client education in dynamic environments.

We value licensed RVTs with NC credentials and welcome graduates awaiting VTNE results or out-of-state license transfers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience REQUIRED.
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of North Carolina strongly preferred.
• Exotics animal experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery, surgical assistance, dental care with radiography, venipuncture/IV access, radiology safety, and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assisting in surgery across a range of caseloads including routine and advanced procedures.
• Performing dental procedures including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Reviewing treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients.
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting case management across the hospital.
• Building strong client relationships through education and attentive service.

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) to join our small animal practices across North Carolina — with openings ranging from standard general practice to high-volume, advanced-scope hospitals.

We are seeking versatile, motivated, client-focused RVTs who are dependable and eager to contribute in dynamic general practice environments — running rooms, managing anesthesia, supporting surgical caseloads, communicating with clients, and in some cases, triaging urgent cases and providing emergency coverage. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

Our current openings span a range of practice types and schedules — from small, close-knit 2-doctor practices with consistent Monday–Friday hours to a high-volume, 4-doctor hospital offering both GP, ER, and some specialty services, including surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, endoscopy, and extended wellness and emergency hours.

• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Who You Are:

• Active, good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in North Carolina — or an out-of-state license-holder eligible to transfer
• Recent graduates actively awaiting VTNE results or in the licensure process are encouraged to apply
• Experienced Veterinary Assistants currently pursuing or planning to pursue RVT licensure are also welcome

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, for each hour worked, based on skills, credentials, experience, and placement
• 3rd shift stipend available for overnight and emergency shift coverage at select locations
• Schedule options vary by placement and include:
  • Monday–Friday, 4 x 10 or 4.5-day schedules — no weekends, no on-call at standard GP locations
  • Flexible day, 2nd shift, and 3rd shift options

Full-time Benefits Package*:

• Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of North Carolina
