Job summary

Evans East Animal Hospital is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join a passionate, collaborative team. You will gather histories, perform diagnostics, assist with surgeries, monitor anesthesia, and educate clients about pet care.

The hospital emphasizes ongoing learning and a supportive, family-like atmosphere. This role requires an Active RVT license or enrollment in a veterinary technology program, strong communication, and a proactive, empathetic approach.

Qualifications

• Active RVT license or enrollment in an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient history and vitals.
• Perform venipuncture and lab tests (hematology, serology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecal analysis, cytology).
• Place IV catheters and monitor hospitalized/surgical patients.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia for surgery patients.
• Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures.
• Conduct and assist with diagnostic testing and radiography.
• Educate clients on pet care in person and by phone.

What You’ll Do:

• Gather patient history and vitals
• Perform venipuncture and conduct lab tests (hematology, serology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and skin/ear cytology)
• Place IV catheters and monitor hospitalized/surgical patients
• Administer and monitor anesthesia for surgery patients
• Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
• Conduct and assist with diagnostic testing and radiography
• Educate clients on pet care both in-person and over the phone

What We’re Looking For:

• Active RVT license or enrollment in an accredited Veterinary Technology program
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• A team player with empathy, warmth, and a great sense of humor
• A proactive mindset—no task is too small!
• Ability to lift/restrain pets up to 40 lbs. and remain on your feet throughout the day
