Job summary

Animal Emergency Clinic in Grand Terrace, CA is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for a part-time position on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You will work with ER veterinarians to provide hands-on emergency care, anesthesia, and surgical support in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must hold a California RVT license with at least one year of hands-on experience. Strong monitoring, documentation, and teamwork are essential, and the clinic offers growth

Qualifications

  • California RVT license required.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.
  • Experience in anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring.
  • Experience assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures.
  • Strong emergency nursing and patient monitoring skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and assist with stabilization of emergency and critically ill patients.
  • Partner with ER veterinarians on patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical suites for emergency surgical procedures.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia, recognize changes in patient status, and support anesthetic recovery.
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures and provide post-operative nursing care.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
  • Document treatments, anesthesia monitoring, patient observations, and updates.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow during high-volume shifts.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support teams to provide exceptional care.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Help maintain efficient patient flow during high‑volume emergency shifts.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, Veterinary Assistants, and support teams to provide exceptional patient care.

What You Bring

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
  • Minimum of one year of hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced veterinary hospital environment.
  • Hands‑on veterinary anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring experience required.
  • Previous experience assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures required.
  • Strong emergency nursing, patient monitoring, critical‑thinking, and technical skills.
  • Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
  • Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and medical documentation skills.
  • Emergency, urgent care, specialty, ICU, or critical care experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and team‑focused in a fast‑paced ER environment.
