Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC), part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks a Veterinary Assistant – Emergency in Grand Terrace, CA. The role involves assisting emergency veterinarians and technicians, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and supporting triage and diagnostics in a busy emergency clinic.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of emergency veterinary experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a passion for emergency medicine.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of emergency veterinary experience.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assistance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Passion for emergency medicine and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with emergency procedures and patient care.
• Perform venipuncture, place intravenous catheters, and administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery.
• Support triage, diagnostics, and emergency treatment protocols.
• Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
• Ensure treatment areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will
