Ethos Veterinary Health in Redwood City is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care Unit (CCU). This full-time role entails managing complex cases, providing advanced patient care, and collaborating with an emergency and specialty team.

The position requires emergency/critical care experience, a California RVT license (preferred), and ability to work a swing or overnight schedule. A sign-on bonus up to $5,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• California Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Experience with critically ill or hospitalized patients.
• Proficiency with blood-product transfusions, CRIs, NG tube placement, sampling line placement, and central line placement.
• Current CPR knowledge and ability to stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
• Closely monitor patients and communicate changes in condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and CRIs.
• Perform blood-product transfusions and monitor for reactions.
• Place and manage IV catheters, sampling lines, central lines, and NG tubes.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples.
• Maintain medical records and treatment sheets.
• Assist with CPR and other emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate compassionately with pet owners.
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.

CCU Veterinary Technician / RVT
Full-Time | Swing or Overnight Shift
$30–$38 per hour, based on experience
$5.50/hr differential for hours worked between 6pm-6am
Sign-on bonus up to $5,000

SAGE Redwood City is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care Unit (CCU). This position is ideal for a skilled veterinary professional who enjoys managing complex cases, providing advanced patient care, and collaborating with a dedicated emergency and specialty team.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
• Closely monitor patients and promptly communicate changes in their condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
• Perform blood-product transfusions and monitor patients for transfusion reactions.
• Place and manage IV catheters, sampling lines, central lines, and nasogastric tubes.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets.
• Assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate compassionately and professionally with pet owners.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment environment.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience in emergency, specialty, critical care, or a progressive general practice setting.
• Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Experience caring for critically ill or hospitalized patients.
• Proficiency with blood-product transfusions, CRIs, NG tube placement, sampling line placement, and central line placement.
• Current CPR knowledge and the ability to respond calmly during emergencies.
• Strong patient-monitoring, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Availability to work a full-time swing or overnight schedule.
