Blackforest Veterinary Clinic in Colorado Springs is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our clinical team. You will work with veterinarians, assistants, and front desk staff to provide compassionate medical care and a positive experience for patients and clients.

The RVT will perform nursing procedures, assist with exams, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, and educate owners while keeping patients safe and low-stress.

Formación

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program.
• Current RVT credential (or eligibility to obtain it before start date).
• Strong clinical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and radiography.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and medical accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Restrain and handle patients safely using low-stress techniques.
• Obtain histories, vital signs, weights, and records for exams.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, and collect samples.
• Run and interpret in-house diagnostics (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology).
• Take radiographs and assist with imaging as needed.
• Prepare, induce, and monitor anesthesia; maintain records.
• Assist in surgery prep, instrument handling, and recovery monitoring.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and radiographs.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids; calculate dosages.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care.
• Fill prescriptions and manage pharmacy inventory.
• Educate clients on home care, medications, and preventive care.
• Maintain a clean, safe treatment area and sterilize equipment.
• Follow safety, OSHA, and infection control protocols.
• Mentor veterinary assistants and new team members.
• Support clients with compassion during difficult moments.
