Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California or eligible to transfer license within 3 months.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species.
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting.
• Dental procedures, scaling, polishing, radiographs, extractions, suturing required.
• IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, casts, bandages and splints.
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical care including intubation and post-op.
• Laboratory skills including cytology setup and interpretation.
• Digital radiology, dental radiology, ultrasound-guided procedures may be involved.
• All other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in hospital and various settings.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist surgeries including intubation.
• Perform dental procedures: scaling, polishing, extractions.
• Radiographs and ultrasound-guided procedures as needed.
• Place IV and urinary catheters; assist with casts and splints.
• Laboratory work with cytology setup and interpretation.
• Maintain clear records and communicate with the team.
