Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to support outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry, in a dynamic general practice near Sacramento. Job description

Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician(RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
• Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
• Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
• Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 28 - $31 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a part‑time position with availibility required on Mondays, and a preference for Tuesdays and Thursdays. There may be full‑time opportunities for the right candidate.

Full‑time Benefits Package*:

• Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good‑standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California
• CE allowance: $500‑$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good‑standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California **
• Familiarity with Cornerstone software and Fear Free Certification is a plus!
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis, radiography, and extractions
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in‑house diagnostic testing
  • Accurate medical record documentation

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out‑of‑state license‑holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply

This is a good‑faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
