The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center in Los Gatos, CA seeks an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team supporting outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We value credentialed technicians for clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication, helping elevate medicine, client experience, and patient care in a busy general practice. FT with 4/10 schedule and some weekend days.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing RVT in California
• Fear Free Certification or willingness to become certified
• Proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
• Dental prophylaxis and radiography
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Radiology positioning and safety protocols
• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations

Job description

The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center is seeking an experiencedRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation:$33 - $38 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and 2 weekend inventory days per year.

Full-time Benefits Package*:

• Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California
• CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standingRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT)in the state of California
• Fear Free Certification or willingness to become certified
• Proficiency in the following skills:

Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out‑of‑state license‑holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
