Job summary

Purple Paws Pet Clinic - Coronado, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to practice at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader in a community-minded small animal hospital.

You will support anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and nursing while collaborating with DVMs and mentoring staff in a well-equipped, high-standard facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California RVT license.
• Credentialed technicians drive patient care and clinical excellence.
• Ability to lead and mentor veterinary support staff.
• Comfort with a growth-oriented, ladder-based career path.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: IV access, multimodal pain management, monitoring.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth radiography, charting, periodontal therapy.
• Diagnostics: In-house lab work and radiography.
• Nursing & Triage: Patient monitoring, wound care, catheter management.
• Workflow Leadership: Lead tech appointments, team huddles, mentoring.

Our state-of-the-art facility features three dedicated DVMs and a passionate support team committed to the highest standards of care. We are dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness. Purple Paws Pet Clinic is equipped for excellence. We provide top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as in house ultrasound.

Your Role – Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHAutilizationguidance consistently.

You will primarilyutilizeyour skills in:

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.

• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).

• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.

• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.

• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
