Job summary

Bondurant Animal Clinic, located in Bondurant, IA, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced, multi-doctor practice.

You will perform lab work, imaging, anesthesia, and patient care, while communicating treatment plans clearly to clients and supporting ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician with active license required.
• Entry-level RVTs and new grads welcome; training provided.
• Punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Willingness to work some Saturday mornings.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Proficiency in safe, low-stress animal restraint.
• Experience in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture; dental radiography a plus.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to hazards.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples and perform diagnostics.
• Handle imaging, nursing care, and medical management of hospitalized patients.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Prepare and assist in surgeries; monitor anesthesia.
• Maintain professional ethics and ongoing learning.

Bondurant Animal Clinic is a well-established, progressive, fast paced multi-doctor general small animal practices located in Bondurant, IA with a sister clinic in Newton, IA. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, High Speed Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital full body and dental radiology, Endoscopy and Ultrasonography. We are proud to be able to say that both of our hospitals are AAHA certified!

Our hours of operation are:

• Mon-Fri:8:00AM - 5:00PM
• Saturday:Open the Second and Fourth Saturday of each month from 8:00AM - 12:00PM

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• A Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license required.
