Bondurant Animal Clinic in Iowa is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the Bondurant location (with potential support at the Newton clinic). You will assist with triage, lab work, imaging, and anesthesia management while delivering compassionate client communication and high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience, with a strong ability to restrain pets, process lab tests, and operate radiography equipment.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Assistant with 1+ year preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player and strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, medical histories, labs and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring a bonus.
• Self-starter who seeks to grow knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples.
• Diagnostic imaging and radiography.
• Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administration of medications and anesthesia management.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance as needed.

Bondurant Animal Clinic is a well-established, progressive, fast paced multi-doctor general small animal practices located in Bondurant, Iowa with a sister clinic in Newton, IA. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, High Speed Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital full body and dental radiology, Endoscopy and Ultrasonography. • The position will primarily be based at our Bondurant location, with the flexibility to work at our Newton location as needed*

Job Description

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
