Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana) seeks a Part-time Polysomnographic Technician for night shifts to conduct sleep studies, scoring, and patient education. The role warrants BRPT certification or equivalent respiratory therapy license plus BCLS and experience in pediatric polysomnography.

You will work under the Clinical Director and collaborate with the sleep program team to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient study workflows in Mishawaka facilities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; associate/bachelor preferred.
  • BRPT certification or Indiana RT license required.
  • Polysomnography program completion of at least 1 year or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive evaluations and treatment of sleep disorders under supervision.
  • Scores sleep studies and assists in supervision of staff as needed.
  • Provides patient education related to sleep disorders and therapies.

JOB SUMMARY
  • Provides comprehensive evaluations and treatment of sleep disorders, under the general supervision of the Clinical Director (MD) or other designee, including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. Can perform all duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician along with scoring of sleep studies and can assist with supervision of other staff.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Education: High School Graduate. Graduate of an accredited school of polysomnography preferred. Associate/Bachelor degree preferred.

  • Licensure: Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or a current Indiana state license in respiratory therapy (RT). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

  • Experience: Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one (1) year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility OR equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician. Confidently performed polysomnography on pediatrics (ages 4 years and up), adolescents, adults and geriatrics preferred.
