Job summary

Apex Home Health, Hospice & Home Care is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-centered respiratory care in an on-site hospital setting. You will perform assessments, manage ventilators and oxygen therapy, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have current RRT credentials, strong ABG interpretation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies while documenting care in the EMR and educating patients and families

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials and licensure as required.
• Strong clinical judgment in assessment, ABG interpretation, and ventilator/oxygen therapy management.
• Ability to act quickly and effectively during respiratory emergencies.
• Excellent communication skills and patient-focused care approach.
• Proficiency with clinical documentation in an EMR.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and care plans.
• Manage ventilators and administer oxygen therapy.
• Obtain and interpret ABGs and respiratory data.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies across hospital units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient care.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and self-management.
