Job summary

Methodist Southlake Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver ventilator support, aerosol therapy and airway maintenance for adults and neonates. You will perform ABG, PFTs and related diagnostics, under indirect supervision, with emphasis on patient age-specific needs and safety.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, TX license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP/Pediatric Advanced Life Support to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed to practice Respiratory Care in Texas in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, humidity therapy and airway maintenance.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostics such as ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide patient care.
• Assemble and maintain cardiopulmonary equipment and perform routine cleaning.
