Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, in accordance with departmental standards and scope of practice. They perform assessments, administer therapies, assist with airway management, and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation.

What you will do in this role:

• Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure, and conduct diagnostic procedures.
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient responses and intervene as necessary.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergencies, ensuring airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation.

Qualifications required:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certifications obtained within 30 days of employment.
• RRT or RCP certification.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
