Job summary

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across emergency, critical care and acute settings.

You will work with physicians and nurses, perform ventilation management, administer oxygen and medications, and educate patients and families while ensuring equipment readiness and infection control. We offer mentorship, stable scheduling, and career growth.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation within 90 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 90 days of employment start date.
• NBRC-RRT certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist).

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status by performing focused exams and airway patency checks.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage ventilation and artificial airways, adjusting invasive/noninvasive ventilation as needed.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and nurses; assist newborn stabilization when required.
• Maintain equipment and ensure infection-prevention standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Associate Degree
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
