Job summary

Infor is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform comprehensive respiratory care, diagnostics, and critical care assessments in Marshall, MI. The role includes ventilator management, EKGs, pulmonary function testing, and Holter monitoring.

The candidate should hold Michigan RRT licensure or be a soon-to-graduate AMA-approved program student, with BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred and competency with inhaled medications is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect and review clinical information by exam and history.
• Supervise certified therapists in the director's absence.

Job description

Job Summary: Perform all aspects of respiratory care clinically and diagnostically that the Cardiopulmonary department provides, such as adult ventilator care and critical care assessment, EKGs, general floor therapy, working with Neopuff support of newborns, arterial blood gas access, Pulmonary Function Testing, stress testing and holter monitoring/scanning.

Essential Functions:

• Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
• Assumes responsibility for first-line supervision of Certified Therapists in director’s absence.
• Performs and evaluates bedside spirometry, and pulmonary function tests.
• Performs EKGs and holter scanning.
• Performs and evaluates EKG stress testing, if trained.
• Performs critical care ventilation and assessment.
• Determines appropriateness of prescribed therapy and goals for identified pathophysiological state.
• Conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Collects and evaluates additional pertinent clinical information by inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation, and patient interview.

Minimum Qualifications: State of Michigan license Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or respiratory student or graduate in an AMA approved program graduating in less than three months. BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Graduate of an AMA accredited educational program for respiratory therapists, or graduating within three months preferred. ACLS, PALS and NRP certification, preferred. Must demonstrate competency in administration of all inhaled medications and modalities.

Physical Requirements: Constantly see/visual acuity, talk/hear, lift/carry 50+ lbs. Frequently stand, walk, reach, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, bend/twist, stoop/kneel/crouch.
