Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial in Arlington, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for PRN Days in the Respiratory Department. The role requires integration with a high-performing team and emphasizes patient assessment, therapy administration, and documentation.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, performing age-appropriate therapies, and contributing to staff training. Pediatric and neonatal ICU experience is valued; CLIA and CPR certifications are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
• CLIA Regulation compliance for foreign education equivalency required
• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtains/verifies physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness.
• Reviews available medical records and obtains pertinent medical history from patient or family.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the license.
• Documents verification of physician orders prior to delivery of care.
• Documents aspects of each treatment session per dept., JCAHO, Medicare and other guidelines.
• Utilizes resources to maximize efficiency and meet departmental needs.
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees.

RRT PRN Days- Respiratory Department

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial: 800 W. Randol Mill Road Arlington, TX 76012

Work hours: PRN Days; 3 shifts within a 6-week schedule, one being a weekend shift

Respiratory Care Department Highlights:

Here’s What You Need

Education

• Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required And
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire preferred And
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 days required

What You Will Do

Patient Assessment/Plan of Care

• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
• Reviews available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.

Patient Treatment

• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

Documentation

• Documents verification of physician orders prior to delivery of care.
• Documents aspects of each treatment session in accordance with departmental, JCAHO, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

Professional Accountability

• Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and meet departmental needs.
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees.
